NineSigma, an innovation partner to global companies, and The Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation, Haas School of Business,
University of California, Berkeley have teamed up on the awards program. NineSigma is sponsoring the awards.

Dr. Henry Chesbrough, Faculty Director, Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation, Berkeley-Haas, said, “These awards spotlight startups that
are not yet well-known, but have potential to become disruptive players in the market and established companies that continue to change the
landscape of their business through Open Innovation (OI). We are recognizing leaders who fearlessly advance innovation theory and its
application towards tangible business goals.”

Through OI, organizations tap into a worldwide network of experts as well as exchange their internal knowledge with others for
strategic advantage. OI is a scalable process that empowers organizations to continually transform themselves, according to the award organizers.

Leaders from business, academia and government to share their challenges, successes and best practices in OI during this year’s
conference. Berkeley-Haas Open Innovation Award winners will receive complimentary registration for the conference, and have the opportunity to make connections with business leaders and OI experts.
