URISA seeks abstracts for conference presentations

The Park Ridge, Ill.-based Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA) is accepting abstracts of presentations for two conferences it plans to hold in Providence, R.I., next year. Abstracts for URISA's Second Annual GIS in Public Health Conference, scheduled for June 5-9, 2009, are due Dec. 5, and abstracts for the 2009 URISA/NENA Addressing Conference, scheduled for Aug. 4-6, will be accepted through Jan. 12.

Topics for the GIS in Public Health Conference include all-hazard preparedness and disaster response, disease surveillance and epidemiology, and healthy communities and social factors in health.

Topics for the Addressing Conference include addressing basics, coordination and standards, emergency response and 911, and case studies of GIS integration with public safety.
