The Washington-based Public Technology Institute (PTI) is seeking nominations for its 2010 Citizen-Engaged Communities Designation Program. The program recognizes local governments for best practices in the use of Citizen Relationship/Records Management (CRM) systems, coupled with 311 systems and other forms of technology that set new standards for citizen participation, seamless service delivery and government performance reporting.

All cities and counties with multi-channel contact centers are invited to submit applications for the two-year designation. In addition to awards presented in four population categories, jurisdictions receiving designation will be featured in a “Winners Spotlight” Web site and in publications, Webinars and conferences. The other forms of technology considered in the program include Web portal technology, telephony systems and mobile communications infrastructure.

An advisory board, representing cities and counties from across the country, will review the applications and select communities for designation. The deadline for submittal is Jan. 29.
