GSA Names Acting Chief Acquisition Officer
U.S. General Services Administrator Lurita Doan announced that Vince Warrick, Associate Administrator for the Office of Performance Improvement (OPI), will begin serving immediately as GSA’s Acting Chief Acquisition Officer (CAO).
“We are working hard to successfully implement major performance initiatives throughout all areas of GSA,” Administrator Doan said. “The skills, knowledge and energy that Vince has already demonstrated as head of the Office of Performance Improvement give me great confidence in his ability to successfully lead the Office of the CAO.”
Mr. Warrick, who joined GSA on Nov. 8, 2006, said, “GSA is the government’s premier acquisition agency. I welcome this opportunity to help strengthen our contracting division and, by extension, provide improved service to our federal clients and the American taxpayers.”
Mr. Warrick succeeds former CAO Emily Murphy, who has left GSA for the private sector. Murphy served nearly two years as GSA’s first CAO.
Mr. Warrick came to GSA from the Harbour Group, one of the most successful operating firms in the nation. Over the past few years, his skills and leadership helped add substantial value to several of its portfolio holdings.
A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Mr. Warrick is married with three children. He attended the United States Military Academy and graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He received a master’s degree in public administration from Cornell University in 1991.
