San Leandro, Calif., has contracted with San Diego-based Ninyo & Moore to provide geotechnical consulting services on the city's Eden Road expansion project.

Hillsborough County, Fla., has contracted with New York-based PB, formerly Parsons Brinckerhoff, to consult on engineering and inspect elements of the county's capital improvement and transportation task force programs. The South Carolina Department of Transportation has contracted with the company to design a $76 million roadway improvement project in Horry County as part of its Road Improvement Development Effort. Los Angeles County has contracted with the firm to develop a regional congestion pricing plan to reduce rush hour traffic by charging higher rates in high occupancy toll lanes.

The Southern California Regional Rail Authority has contracted with Orange, Calif.-based J.L. Patterson & Associates to serve as on-call design engineer for the Metrolink Commuter Rail System.

Los Angeles has contracted with Norwalk, Conn.-based EMCOR Group to install hardware and software for the city's Automated Traffic Surveillance and Control system.
