Pit bull laws in Chicago

Chicagoans will be able to keep their pit bulls if the city approves a package of ordinances aimed at preventing the use of any animal for fighting. The ordinances would require that a microchip be implanted in every dog in the city to track animals that are allowed to repeatedly run loose, according to the Chicago Tribune. The microchip plan, which comes as a response to a proposed ban of pit bulls, has the backing of animal rights groups. Other cities, such as Los Angeles, have similar plans in place. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-0605290108may29,1,1719768.story?coll=chi-newslocal-hed
