In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, countless donations of much-needed equipment poured into the Gulf states. One such arrivalModel 378 truck, equipped with a dump bodywas especially welcomed by city officials of New Orleans, LA. The truck was manufactured and donated by Peterbilt Motors Co., a Div. of PACCAR, Inc., based in Denton, TX. Peterbilt gave the City of New Orleans full ownership of the vehicle to assist with immediate clean-up efforts and serve future needs. The truck combines the agility of municipal vehicles with the power and aerodynamic efficiency of a long-haul highway tractor. Features include a sloped, fiberglass hood that tilts 90 for easy engine access. Various cab and axle configurations are available.
