Drones - what are the acceptable uses?

Drones have dominated recent headlines. Proponents say the unmanned technology could be used to promote safety and cut down on overhead; opponents say drones could easily lend themselves to abuses.

In Illinois the legislature passed two laws limiting the use of drones, and the California State Senate has approved Senate Bill 15 that would establish standards for the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) within the Golden State.
