North American Green Fleet Forum

October 15-16, the Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition in partnership with the East Bay Clean Cities Coaltion, 100 Best Fleets, the National Alternative Fuel Training Consortium (NAFTC) and Odyssey Day will bring two days of training and education to the California Automobile Museum in Sacramento, Calif.

The first day will feature a morning of training in petroleum-reduction technology from the NAFTC, including lessons about the important of petroleum-reduction technology, fleet applications, biodiesel, natural gas, propane and how to reduce idling. There will also be a tour of the Sacramento Bio Fuel Anaerobic Digester in which participants will learn about how food waste is being used as vehicle fuel and a visit to a Natural Gas Maintenance Facility and Liquid Natural Gas Fueling Station.

After lunch, there will be "100 Best Fleets" Best Practices, which will include case studies and real-world examples of the best-managed fleets in North America. In the evening participants will attend the Green Fleet Forum Networking, Reception and Awards Ceremony with a hosted bar and hors d'oeuvres, during which the greenest fleets in North America will be named.

On the second day, the NAFTC will offer additional training, including panels on hydrogen, ethanol and electric drives for fleets as well as a tour of public-access hydrogen and LNG stations. There will also be vendor and exhibitor networking and programs on topics like incentives for alternative -fuel vehicles and infrastructure, light- and heavy-duty vehicle technology and the future of transportation and the role of fleets.
