Mars Hill, Maine, expects to reap several benefits from the $55 million wind farm under construction on Mars Hill Mountain. Bangor, Maine-based Evergreen Wind Power already has constructed several of the 28 wind turbines that eventually will generate 42 megawatts of electricity, according to the Bangor Daily News. Officials in the town say they will get $500,000 per year in property taxes from the farm, along with more jobs and more visitors.
