New York may ask restaurants to display calories
The New York City Board of Health is considering requiring about 10 percent of the city’s restaurants, including several fast-food chains, to display their products’ calories on menus and signs in the restaurant. The rule is intended to fight the so-called obesity epidemic, according to The New York Times. Restaurant owners are calling the rule unfair, and civil libertarians say it would violate free speech and private enterprise.
