Officials in Maui County, Hawaii, are asking residents who use the new Central Maui Landfill to secure and recycle their plastic bags when disposing of them. The bags have been blowing off the top of the landfill’s trash heap, over a 12-foot perimeter fence and onto nearby fields and trees, according to The Maui News. Also, the county plans to buy soft mobile fences help contain the bags.
