On April 25, the Alexandria, Va.-based Association of Government Accountants (AGA) launched a blog for state, local and federal government financial managers to discuss government transparency and accountability issues. Daily discussion topics include solutions and priorities in financial reporting.

AGA hopes the blog will encourage more government accountability, says AGA Executive Director Relmond Van Daniker. "It is not enough for us to simply provide information," he said in a statement. "We must encourage a two-way conversation that will allow us to receive public input on everything we do."
