Study finds Washington, D.C., traffic cameras ineffective
A recent Washington Post study found that the number of accidents at intersections with traffic cameras has increased and that those intersections have a comparable or worse record than those without the cameras. According to the newspaper, the red-light cameras at 45 intersections have brought in more than 500,000 violations and $32 million in fines over the past six years. Washington Post
