NVFC's aggressive goal is to reduce on-duty, heart-related deaths by 25 percent by 2008. The group already has provided thousands of firefighters with a Heart-Healthy Firefighter Kit, which includes information about fighting cholesterol and heart disease, and promoting better nutrition and physical fitness. The kit is available by visiting www.healthyfirefighter.org.
