For those reasons, The Pittsburgh-based Society for Protective Coatings has compiled standards, guides and other documents in a 322-page book titled “Guides on Environmental Protection.” The book features the latest instructions for containing debris when removing paint, disposing of lead-contaminated debris and providing ventilation to control emissions and enhance visibility within a contained area. The guide also includes chapters on air quality and waste handling and excerpts from the Code of Federal Regulations. To order the guide, call (877) 281-7772 or e-mail books@sspc.org.
