If flying cars are in production in 24 years, they will be very popular if the Los Angeles-based Reason Foundation's traffic congestion predictions are accurate. The foundation estimates that by 2030, 11 American cities, including Atlanta, Chicago and San Francisco, will be as congested as Los Angeles is today. Also, it predicts that in the next 25 years, traffic delays in urban centers will increase 65 percent, requiring 104,000 more lane-miles on the nation's freeways, costing about $533 billion to construct.
