Identicator, a provider of fingerprinting products and systems for public safety agencies, has moved its headquarters from Marina del Rey, Calif., to El Segundo, Calif.

Water, water everywhere

Seattle Public Utilities has hired Greenwood Village, Colo.-based CH2M Hill to design, build and operate the Cedar Treatment Facility, a 180-mgd water treatment plant. The facility is expected to be online by the end of 2004 and will cost $109 million dollars to design, build and operate for 25 years.

The Utilities Maintenance Division of Houston's Department of Public Works has contracted with Chesterfield, Mo.-based Insituform Technologies for an undefined work contract. The company will perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on the city's sewer system.

The Red Hill Water Authority in Montgomery County, Pa., has selected Manalapan, N.J.-based Schoor DePalma to provide design and permitting services for the county's water production, treatment and storage system.

Plugged in

The Orlando (Fla.) Utilities Commission has selected Schaumburg, Ill.-based Motorola to provide software for a prepaid electric metering service. With the new service, customers will pay in advance for their electricity.

San Diego has retained locally based Ninyo & Moore to provide geotechnical service for an eroded slope in Balboa Park. The project will include a subsurface evaluation, laboratory testing and a report with recommendations for repair.

Hickory, N.C., has contracted with Columbia, S.C.-based VC3 to upgrade and implement software that is used by residents to make and track requests for city services, such as trash pick-up or pothole repair.

The North Central Texas Council of Governments, based in Arlington, has contracted with Herndon, Va.-based Vargis to provide digital orthoimagery for 11 counties.

Phoenix, Ariz., has selected Clearwater, Fla.-based AGRA Baymont to provide storm drain map conversion and back log as-built conversion to the city's GIS.

Washoe County, Nev., has contracted with Lynchburg, Va.-based Com-Net Ericsson Critical Radio Systems to install a 13-site, 55-channel enhanced digital access communications system. The multi-site system will be used by agencies throughout the county.
