Russell County Gets New Mobile Command Trailer
The Russell County Sheriff’s Office has obtained a mobile command trailer through a Homeland Security Grant. The trailer, which has a $43,096.49 price tag–is equipped with a number of features, including high-tech communications and electronics technology. In addition, the trailer has three flat screen monitors that offer camera, computer, satellite, and closed circuit TV functionality.
Other features include a small bedroom and kitchen. Russell County Sheriff Tommy Boswell indicated that the mobile command trailer was set to begin operation during this past Memorial Day weekend. Boswell believes the trailer could provide a valuable tool for law enforcement officials and emergency personnel with the hurricane season beginning this week.
