Governments continue to own and manage a sizable number of vehicles, according to the latest “Highway Statistics” report, which was issued January 2017.

Governments own a total of 4.06 million motor vehicles, down from 4.08 million tallied in the previous year’s report – a decrease of 0.43 percent. The actual decrease in government fleet size from 2015 to 2014 was 17,861 vehicles. The report includes fleet counts for federal and state/county/municipal governments.

The latest “Highway Statistics” report is part of the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Highway Statistics Series on the web.

The report includes government fleet counts for the following vehicle groups:

•    Automobiles
•    Buses
•    Trucks and truck tractors
•    Trailers and semi trailers
•    Motorcycles

Top Selling Used Cranes in the U.S. and Canada
