Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Research Manager Dean Mead, Project Manager Randal Finden, and Practice Fellow Deborah Beams will discuss the Board's recent Exposure Draft on fair value measurement from the perspective of state and local government practitioners from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Topics include:

*Background of the project and expected improvements to financial reporting

*The proposed defintion of fair value and key concepts behind it

*The application of fair value to investments and significant exceptions

*Proposed disclosure requirements for fair value measures

*A question and answer period.
