EquipmentWatch recently took a look at its EQW Values database of over 70,000 records. Analysts found the following most popular equipment models in their respective equipment types for September 2015: the Case IH 1083 corn header, the Caterpillar 740B articulated rear dump, the RAM 3500 crew light cab chassis truck and the SkyTrak 10054 telescoping boom rough terrain lift truck.

The equipment matches up with EquipmentWatch’s four main channels: Construction, Agriculture, Lift/Access, and Commercial Trucks. Going forward, EquipmentWatch will be sharing its findings regarding its most popular models each month.

The EquipmentWatch analysis notes: “The RAM 3500 showed the most dramatic market contraction in retail price trends in May 2015 before settling at an 8.52 percent decrease in price compared to September 2014. The other three models showed less drastic overall declines in price trends, except for the SkyTrak 10054, which settled at an increase of 1.03 percent for September 2015.”

EquipmentWatch industry analyst Stephanie Wilson tells GPN that information on most popular equipment models can be useful for equipment managers, renters and sellers. “Knowing which models are most popular for the month and what their price and volume trends look like, will assist in decisions regarding pricing and finance. It will provide a snapshot of equipment performance month over month.” Go here for more information and intelligence from EquipmentWatch.
