ATLANTA and NEW ORLEANS have appeared on (both) Travel+Leisure and Forbes "America's Dirtiest Cities" lists since 2011. Dozens of State Litter Studies here in the U.S. and Canada (I've worked on these!) consistently found sports fans attending these venues, along with construction workers, persons age 16-25, partiers, smokers and heavy fast food eaters, are deemed "profiled litterers"--those most prone or willing to illegally litter trash and wastes onto public properties.

Interesting article. With the exception of Nashville, I do feel the nine other cities listed are less interested in sports (ownership, fanbase, etc.). The Titans and Predators seem to be very well run franchises so don't feel this cities should be on the list but otherwise agree.
