RECRUITMENT DATES January 22, 2007 - Until selection is made. First review of application material will occur on February 5, 2007.

SALARY $68,931 - $102,627 annualized.

EXPERIENCE Requires five years of responsible experience in water systems civil technology, cartography, utility records, geographical information systems, and computer aided drafting and design systems, including two years of supervisory experience, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field. Experience working with development agreements is a plus. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted.

DUTIES Under the general supervision of an Assistant Water Services Director, this position manages a diverse technical work group consisting of support, paraprofessional and professional level staff who provide the general public, developers, engineers, utilities, government agencies, and other City departments with information on location, depth, flow of water and sewer, etc., and who maintain water and sewer quarter section maps on a geographical information system. Other duties include authorizes the sale of water and sewer services; reviews private development agreements for water and sewer service; authorizes the acceptance of private development water and sewer projects after construction; oversees the maintenance of historical and current construction and service records; consults with the Assistant Water Services Director to plan and develop direction for function operations; and plans and administers the function’s budget. Currently, there is one vacancy in the Water Services Department.

RESIDENCE Maricopa County residency is required within 24 months after the date of hire and must be maintained.
