SALARY $22.01 - $26.37 hourly / $45,781 - $54,850 annualized.

EXPERIENCE Requires three years of experience in maintenance and repair of analog and digital industrial control equipment, industrial electronic and test equipment, computer and peripheral repair, or military electronics. An associate’s degree in electronics, electrical, instrumentation and controls or equivalent military schooling and Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) certification in water or wastewater is preferred. Experience in process control circuits and knowledge of specifications such as P & IDs (process and instrumentation diagrams) and electrical schematics are desirable. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted.

DUTIES This position performs skilled work in installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of all types of electronic instruments and peripheral equipment in a water / wastewater treatment system. This includes ultrasonic metering devices, remote terminal units, laboratory analytical equipment, and a wide variety of electronic measuring instruments. Additionally, this position evaluates the utility and condition of electronic systems and equipment such as security, alarm, life safety networks, building automation, and carbon monoxide measuring and alert systems; checks equipment, including test instruments, for preventative maintenance and to ensure compliance with FCC requirements; instructs and provides on-the-job training on instrumentation maintenance for employee staff and Operations and Maintenance Technicians. Currently, there are two vacancies in the Water Services Department.

ALSO REQUIRED Some positions in this classification require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess an appropriate valid Arizona driver's license, possess personal insurance coverage, and have an acceptable driving record. Working irregular hours, shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings may be required. Moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds may be required.

RESIDENCE Maricopa County residency is required within 24 months after the date of hire and must be maintained.
