Assistant Environmental Services Manager
Tucked away in the southeastern corner of the state is one of Alabama’s best kept secrets—Dothan. Just two hours from the beautiful Gulf Coast, Dothan is one of Alabama’s fastest growing cities serving a thriving metropolitan area. Dothan city government is looking for an Assistant Environmental Services Manager to assist and direct the municipal solid waste collection and disposal activities (commercial, residential, and vector control) of the Public Works Department, Environmental Services Division. Requires a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university accredited by an accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration or a closely related field. Five (5) years of recent, progressively responsible experience in solid waste handling, two (2) of which shall have been at a supervisory level. Possession of a valid operator driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. Preference will be given to individuals with a minimum of one (1) or more years of experience in refuse collection routing.
