The Madison, Wis., police chief wants to see officers on horseback patrolling the city’s downtown, but he doesn’t expect it to happen until 2008. Chief Noble Wray is fighting the belief that Madison’s downtown is unsafe, and his department already has stationed between five and 10 officers in the area to prevent crime, according to The Capital Times. Wray also blames the increased number of bars downtown for causing more trouble.
