The Caledonia County, Vt., Superior Court will have to decide what kind of pilot’s beacon will be installed at the county airport in Lyndon. In 2004, the Lyndon Planning and Zoning Board voted against the Vermont Agency of Transportation’s plan to put a rotating beacon light at the airport, responding to residents’ complaints that the light would detract from their quality of life, according to The Caledonian-Record. Lyndon authorities have said they would accept a pilot-activated beacon, but the Federal Aviation Administration rejected that plan.
