Tucson passes budget without resolving pay issue

Tucson, Ariz., has approved most of its $1.1 billion budget, but the debate continues on how to disperse $11 million set aside for employee compensation.

Tucson, Ariz., has approved most of its $1.1 billion budget, but the debate continues on how to disperse $11 million set aside for employee compensation. About 70 city employees came to a council meeting to protest a plan by the city manager to give larger raises to public safety employees, according to the Arizona Daily Star. The council delayed its decision until next week.
