A Tennessee woman and her husband have started a campaign to reform a state law that caps cities’ liability for damages. Terrie Fish faces more than $400,000 in medical bills as the result of an accident with a Nashville police officer, but even though the officer was at fault, the law caps the city’s liability to Fish at $250,000, according to The Tennesean. Legislative action is required to lift the cap in Fish’s case.
