The public transit system in Fargo, N.D., is seeing an increase in use by college students. An online survey of 1,200 students at four Fargo-area colleges showed more students were riding the buses and using the city’s MAT U-Pass system that allows them to ride for free with a college ID, according to The Forum. Metropolitan Council of Governments officials credit the MAT program, along with rising gas prices and limited parking on campus, for the increase in student bus riders.
