St. Paul transit systems becoming environmentally friendly

St. Paul, Minn., is buying hybrid-electric and reduced-emissions buses to replace 314 aging buses. The city will add 150 hybrid buses over the next five years, and the other 164 will burn diesel fuel more efficiently

St. Paul, Minn., is buying hybrid-electric and reduced-emissions buses to replace 314 aging buses. The city will add 150 hybrid buses over the next five years, and the other 164 will burn diesel fuel more efficiently for fewer emissions, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Other city agencies, such as the Metropolitan Airports Commission, are taking similar steps to protect the environment by using alternative fuels.
