A Seattle city councilwoman’s plans to hold a campaign fundraising tour of the Seattle Art Museum’s waterfront sculpture park have been canceled. The museum disallowed the tour, saying it wanted to avoid the appearance of endorsing Councilwoman Sally Clark in the upcoming election, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Clark’s fundraising consultant won the tour of the yet-to-be-opened sculpture park at the Allied Arts of Seattle’s summer auction and planned to ask for $500 apiece from the 10 people who would take the tour.
