San Francisco mayor’s plan for transit system includes many old ideas

The plan San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom unveiled this week to resolve problems with the city’s public transportation system is comprised mostly of ideas the have been discussed or have been in the works for some time. Newsom’s plan includes a crackdown on double parking to clear the way for city buses and adding machines to bus stops that track the buses’ real-time locations, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Also, Newsom told the Municipal Transportation Agency board of directors that the plan would take time to fully implement.
