Pot proponents sue Seattle

The organizers of Seattle’s Hempfest, a festival promoting the legalization of marijuana, are suing the city and the Seattle Art Museum

The organizers of Seattle’s Hempfest, a festival promoting the legalization of marijuana, are suing the city and the Seattle Art Museum, accusing them of taking too long to issue a permit for the event. City and museum officials say the event will take place on Aug. 19-20 as scheduled, but construction at the museum has slowed the process for approving the Hempfest permit, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Also, while the city says it’s waiting on the museum to send a letter addressing certain logistical questions, museum officials say Hempfest organizers already have those answers and it’s now up to the city to issue the permit.
