A measure that would allow Los Angeles City Council members to run for an extra term has been removed from the Nov. 7 ballot. A Superior Court judge ruled that the measure violates the state’s single-subject rule because it asks voters to decide on two separate issues, extending term limits and adding restrictions on lobbyists, according to the Los Angeles Times. The measure has become a centerpiece in an ongoing debate in the city over whether term limits are necessary.
