Phoenix helps struggling downtown businesses

Running a small business in downtown Phoenix is hard, and the city is now starting some programs to help. Business owners have complained about the city’s slow plan approval process

Running a small business in downtown Phoenix is hard, and the city is now starting some programs to help. Business owners have complained about the city’s slow plan approval process, confusion about signage and lack of an ombudsman to help them, according to The Arizona Republic. In response, the city has formed the Downtown Phoenix Urban Form Project and is working on a special zoning overlay to help urban entrepreneurs.
