Panel stresses regional planning for Northern Nevada area

Officials in Northern Nevada and Lake Tahoe should act as one in implementing transportation and land-use plans, says a panel of experts. The panel, assembled by the American Institute of Architects, says that the Reno, Tahoe and Carson areas should form a regional planning agency and economic development agency to make the region sustainable, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal. Specializing in climate, water, transportation and energy, the panel is visiting six regions of the country this year.
