New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s administration has reached a tentative contract with the city’s largest municipal employee union. The 32-month contract with District Council 37, which represents a variety of city employees from hospital workers to clerks, includes a total pay increase of 10 percent and will allow the workers to live outside the city, according to The New York Times. Union officials say they agreed to the contract without giving any concessions to the mayor who has previously insisted on productivity concessions from the city’s unions to help finance raises.
