New Jersey budget freeze closes casinos

New Jersey’s government shut down has led to a temporary shuttering of Atlantic City’s casinos, potentially costing the state $1.3 million a day. As legislators continue to debate the $31 billion budget, all non-essential state services remain closed, according to The New York Times. That includes the Casino Control Commission that supervises the state’s 12 casinos.
