Nebraska county debates aging courthouse

Nebraksa courthouse building under consideration for restoration

Several judges in Douglas County, Neb., say the county’s current courthouse, which turns 100 in 2010, is overcrowded and lacks proper security. The judges want the county to spend $100 million on a new courthouse in downtown Omaha, according to the Omaha World-Herald. County officials disagree and recommend that, among other things, the judges should share courtrooms.
