Nashville negotiating with Predators

Nashville, Tenn., is fighting with its hockey team, the Predators, saying the team would owe the city $28 million if they leave before the end of their 30-year lease.

Nashville, Tenn., is fighting with its hockey team, the Predators, saying the team would owe the city $28 million if they leave before the end of their 30-year lease. City attorneys say the municipal government invested $35 million to establish the franchise and the team’s “tangible net worth” has dropped below the $28 million required by its contract. Attorneys for the Predators say the team has been appraised at $150 million.
