Las Vegas is planning to be the sixth North American city to host an auto race on its downtown streets. The Vegas Grand Prix is planned for Easter Sunday 2007, and city officials are hopeful that it will be as successful as similar races in other cities, such as Long Beach, Calif., according to the Las Vegas Sun. San Jose and Denver have also hosted “open-wheel” races, but with mixed results.
