A former Los Angeles commissioner has been indicted on charges of bribery and conflict-of-interest as the result of a three-year investigation into alleged corruption in the city’s contracting practices. Leland Wong, who wielded political power under former Mayor James Hahn, is accused of taking a $100,000 bribe from a Taiwanese shipping company for more space at the Port of Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Times.
