Los Angeles City Council hires different lawyer

The Los Angeles City Council has hired an extra attorney for independent legal advice, a move some say shows a lack of trust in City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo. At least one council member says city ordinances are not being prepared quickly enough and Delgadillo’s legal advice is inconsistent, according to the Los Angeles Times. A spokesman for Delgadillo says that the new attorney will not serve as the council’s legal counsel.
