Transcripts from the grand jury that indicted San Jose, Calif., Mayor Ron Gonzales and his aide earlier this month will remain sealed for an extra week while a defense attorney in the case undergoes a medical procedure. Gonzales and sanitation company Norcal Waste Systems were indicted on charges of conspiracy and misuse of public funds in connection with allegations that Gonzales and budget aide Joe Guerra secretly helped Norcal get $11.25 million in city funds to pay employee wages, according to the Mercury News.
