Traer, Iowa, is considering starting its own natural gas service. A feasibility study indicates that the town can save $1.6 million over 25 years by starting the service, and some officials like the idea of more local control, according to the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier. However, an official with the company that currently provides the town’s gas service says prices may go up if the city takes over.
