Former Illinois Gov. George Ryan has been sentenced to six and a half years in federal prison on corruption charges. In April, a federal jury found Ryan guilty of sending millions of dollars of state business to his longtime friend Lawrence Warner in exchange for gifts, according to the Chicago Tribune. Ryan is scheduled to begin his sentence after Christmas.
