The Washington-based National Association of Counties (NACo) is offering assistance to counties that are exploring “green” technology. The Green Government Initiative will provide counties with information on energy efficiency, renewable and alternative energy, green building, air quality, water quality and land use. NACo's County Services Department and Financial Services Center, supported by 11 founding corporate members of the association, will educate counties on “green” options, and connect them with companies and organizations providing green services and products. NACo President Colleen Landkamer has appointed the Green Government Advisory Board, comprised of county officials and corporate members, to guide the initiative.
