States and cities are taking more steps to curb global warming, but businesses say the result is a “patchwork of regulations.” Expressing disappointment that the federal government has been slow to regulate greenhouse gas emissions, local officials are requiring energy companies to use more renewable sources and putting more restrictions on motor vehicle emissions, according to the Washington Post. Some of them, like California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, have even entered into international agreements.
